I was looking for an alternative to my old-standby recipe for marinated flank steak, so I noodled around online…found something and then modified it.
This is quick and easy. Leftovers are really nice atop a bed of mixed greens.
Flank Steak Marinated with Stout
1 bottle of stout (any dark beer will do, really)
1/3 c brown sugar
1/2 c white onion, minced
1/4 c olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 T chili garlic sauce
1. Combine first ingredients in large resealable bag. Add flank steak and let marinate for a couple of hours.
2. Grill for approximately 7 minutes each side for medium-rare beef. Tent it for 5 minutes before serving. Slice against grain and serve.
