Here’s a link to a wonderful article about author/Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who passed away recently.

Best quote: “When I finished one book, I wouldn’t write for a while,” he said in 1966. “Then I had to learn how to do it all over again. The arm goes cold; there’s a learning process you have to go through again before you rediscover the warmth that comes over you when you are writing.”

If you don’t use your creative gifts regularly, things really can get “cold”. I notice that when I come off a photography “gap,” it takes a while for my eye to loosen up. When I’m traveling, the difference between “how” I see on Day 1 varies greatly from Day 7 or 8.

Anyone else in the same boat?
